The Semi-Final Day
Following the search over the summer, our top ten semi-finalists went head to head at Hartlepool's Maritime Experience and the Marina to become one of two Challengers for the competition. Joanna and James were chosen by our panel of judges (local journalists and the Head of visitTeesvalley).
Happening Pass Pandemonium - Challenge Day 21st Nov 09
This was an ideal opportunity to really test the Challengers initiative, willingness and overall enthusiasm as the potential Face of Tees Valley. The theme of the day was centred around some of the businesses involved in the Tees Valley Happening Pass discount card. Timed tasks included washing a bridge, mucking out a stable, buying an item under £10 at Psyche, making a latte at The Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe and kayaking at the River Tees Watersports Centre. Not only did they have to complete the tasks successfully they both had to find they own way around Tees Valley using public transport. Both Joanna and James did amazingly well but James was the overall winner for the day.
